Placements

Ikando enables people from around the world to share their skills and expertise, welcoming applications from all, regardless of age or experience. We facilitate placements for one or more people, for a minimum of two weeks and can secure the placement within two weeks of receiving your enquiry. We offer placements that will either utilise skills you hold already or give opportunity to learn new skills. We will match your skills and expectations with those of your host organisation to ensure your placement is a professionally, as well as a personally, rewarding experience. This is achieved through our rigorous application process, and in depth research into potential host organisations to assess what is needed and what the volunteer can expect.

To combine multiple placements, please email Ikando for more information.

"The staff at Ikando are available 24/7 and are very helpful should you encounter any difficulties. In particular Quashi who is one of the house workers  is eager to interact and make everyone feel at home when they arrive. He is a good source of information and he loves to chat and teach volunteers how to cook local cuisine."

    History of Ghana

Ghana is a fascinating culture at a cross roads between the past and the present. It is historically rich and amazingly diverse. It boasts the legacy of the great Ashanti Empire of the 11th century along with the dubious distinction of being the most traveled route for the transport of Africans to the new world.
