This rural orphanage seeks to promote the general well-being of orphans, abandoned and needy children by providing a home situation, attention and care, quality formal education and employable skills.

The orphanage runs alongside a mainstream school where the orphans are educated. Focus is on healthcare, in particular on HIV/AIDS prevention. The school board are also keen to educate girls and to keep them in education throughout their teenage years.

Volunteers applying to this should be aware that it is set in very rural settings and that both the school and orphanage, like most organisations in Ghana are Christian.

Current Placement Opportunities

This can entail getting food ready for them, helping them wash and brush their teeth, dressing the little ones and just generally giving them love, attention and a smile. Volunteers should be aware that the kids get up early!
