This Non-Governmental Organisation has as its core business to engage government, non government and other stake holders in developing innovative, self sustainable and comprehensive educational programs to improve the life and well being of individuals especially children and the society as a whole.

The mission of Life Bridge is to train and work with well resourced institutions and professionals to prepare the students to excel academically and socially. This will be achieved by providing students with effective academic programs, entrepreneurial skills, applied research, extra-curricular activities and mentorship.

Current Placement Opportunities

• Nursery Coordinator
A coordinator is required for the day-to-day running of the Nursery. This will include planning, implementing and evaluating the nursery programme, including the provision of well balanced snacks and exercise through play. The ideal candidate will have previous child care experience.

Adult Literacy Instructor
An instructor is required for the day-to-day running of the Adult Literacy Programme. This will include planning, implementing and evaluating the Adult Literacy Programme, including encouraging more people to participate in the programme.

• Reading Club Coordinator
A coordinator is required for the day-to-day running of the Reading Club. This will include planning, implementing and evaluating the reading programme, including helping the members to read. The organisation are looking for outgoing and lively volunteers who are happy to get stuck in.

Child Care Assistant
A child care assistant is required to help with the looking after of children in the creche and nursery, this includes washing & feeding the children. The assistant will be required to give lots of love and attention to the children.

• Administrator
The foundation requires an administrator to help with the day-to-day running of the organisation and help it implement it's five-year programme. The ideal candidate will have previous administrative experience.

Web designer
The volunteer will be working on the website for the foundation. The website needs to include information on the projects and its members, and provide a holistic view of the foundation.

• Fundraiser
A volunteer Fundraiser is required to write grants, develop a fundraising plan and research and develop new partnerships. This will include planning and running fundraising events.

In order to maintain the sustainability and high performance of this project all volunteers are required to complete a detailed hand-over document for successive volunteers.

Where is the placement based?
You will be working at the Foundation located on the outskirts of Accra and you will be staying in Ikando Accommodation with other volunteers in the centre of town.

Health and Safety
There are a number of health clinics and hospitals in the area. The local hospital in Osu is open 24/7. Volunteers should show due care and diligence whilst in placement. We recommend volunteers do not walk alone at night. Refrain from bringing expensive items as these attract attention.

Other details
• The volunteer will be housed in our accommodation in the centre of town, it is clean and well maintained. Previous volunteers described the accommodation as "a lovely haven in all the chaos." The accommodation is centrally located to Accra, with it possible to walk from the accommodation to nearby shops, communication centres, bars and restaurants.
• The accommodation has 24/7 security
• Washing & ironing facility is available.
• Please arrive on a weekday to avoid being surcharged for weekend pick-ups.
• There are small stores in the neighbourhood and larger supermarkets can be found a 5-min drive away.
